Ever since I've been running SunOS 4.0 I've found the response of my
machine to be horrible whenever anything is running thin the background
(perhaps that's just anything memory intensive).  It sometimes takes 10 to
15 seconds just to echo my characters.  SunOS 3.x didn't do this.

Does anyone know what is different in the scheduler?  Is this some kind of
"improvement"?  Is there a way of disabling it?  Thanks.
