Has anyone out there heard of either Sun (or Lucid or Franz) is working to
include networking facilities as a standard part of Lisp ?  I think that
standard things like sockets, named-pipes, rpc, udp should be there so
that one's Lisp applications can easily interact with other applications
or system programs.

Any pointers appreciated.
