Somewhat perplexed... *-[:-( We had the same problem...as did others I know. Comment out the define(LOGHOST,1) line that you (probably) added to "/etc/syslog.conf" when you installed 4.0. The 4.0 installation of syslog didn't work without that define, the 4.0.3 version won't work with it. Believe me. It works!
