Are there such beasts? To be blunt, from the replies I got, the answer is no. There were, however, some "close but no cigar" suggestions, which might be of interest to some. Most frequent suggestion: The 3b1 _is_ still supported by AT&T, so go with that---a cheap System V system. Other contenders: Old Sun 3s, or a Sun 386i. Megadata Corp. 68k-based Model 6 and 7 386-based SysVr3.2, Xenix, etc. Multi-user boxes: Integrated Solutions Optimum V16S or V24S (BSD) AT&T 3B2/600 (SysV [of course]) Pyramid 98x (dual universe SysV/BSD) [widely called a solid machine] Sequent Balance (???, NS32000) DEC VAX 11/750 or MicroVAX II (BSD [aka Ultrix]) My thanks to all those who sent me info, including Bud Hovell ...!{sun!nosun|tektronix!percival}!whizz!bbh Dan Trottier dan@maccs.McMaster.CA Pat Barron pat@orac.pgh.pa.us Gregg Siegfried grs@cblph.att.com Les Mikesell les@chinet.chi.il.us and especially, Ken Seefried III ken@gatech.edu -- John Lacey | Internet: lacey@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu running unattached | BITnet: lacey@crnlthry | UUCP: cornell!batcomputer!lacey "Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must remain silent." ---Wittgenstein
