Now normally one would think that root has no password but this is not the case. When I type 'su' I must enter the root password to become super-user. The other puzzler is that when I try to login as root the password no longer works. Does anyone know what's going on here? Also, where is the encrypted root password kept? Steve Tenbrink sct@lanl.gov
