Is it because there is no official standard? Actually, Ultrix uses RPC to implement NFS. I have written a few programs using RPC under Ultrix, and while there were one or two problems that I had to work-around, it works fairly well. The problem is that DEC doesn't support it so there is no documentation about how to use it from DEC. Now, if you have a Sun machine around... _____________________________________ Brian V.
