Why isn't set-idness of programs documented anywhere, like in the manpage?
Why isn't there a list of set-id programs?
Why aren't reasons for set-idness documented?

restore on SunOS4.0 is setuid root, and I have no idea why it should be so.
(Another reason to have source.  Do you trust your vendor?)

Let's turn off set-id bits everywhere and see what breaks.
