Version 10 and Version 11 of X are completely disjoint. Version 10 is obsolete. Compatibility with MIT Release N of Version 11 is explained as part of Release N+1, in the release notes and other documentation. In general, we try to be upward compatible. This is especially true for interfaces which are Consortium standards.
