Specifically, I want to have a written-file-hook attached to my .profile, .emacs, and $ENV files so that I can modify them on one machine and have them rcp'd to another machine immediately. This way, I can have one version of the files run on all the machines I use, but not worry about which machine has the latest version. I could use the write-file-hook to submit an at(1) job for "now + 1 minute", but I was hoping for a cleaner solution.
