From: palkovic@linac.fnal.gov (John A. Palkovic) ? Hello. I am currently running emacs 18.54.1 on a Sun 4/260. I have ? access to a file called "emacs.diff-18.55-18.54" . My question is can ? this be used to update emacs 18.54.1 and if so how do I do it? Most likely, you use patch. I've never done it; I always snarf new distributions in their entirety. You will probably want to use the -p0 option to prevent pathname stripping. ? By the way I think emacs is great. If I wasn't a poor physics graduate ? student with a pregnant wife I would donate some $ to the Free ? Software Foundation. Thanks. How about your first male child :-? ? John Palkovic ?
