(another repost) Keywords: .newsrc Message-ID: <1073@fallst.UUCP> Date: 21 Aug 89 15:02:14 GMT Organization: Tim Evans, Fallston, MD Lines: 20 I've posted this question twice before--to news.sysadmin and news.software.b. Maybe this is the right group to get a response? I'm getting plagued by errors while reading news which tell me that my "last article claimed read reset from X to Y." (Y is always a lower number than X and always equals the _lowest_ article number residing on my system (i.e., the lowest which has not been expired). Next time I go into vnews (or readnews), I get a lot of articles which I've already read. This only happens with newsgroups that are down toward the end of my .newsrc file, so I presume has something to do with a maximum number of lines in .newsrc, but don't know this for sure. Help would be surely appreciated. Thank you. -- UUCP: ...uunet!cp1!aplcen!wb3ffv!fallst!tkevans INTERNET: tkevans%fallst@wb3ffv.ampr.org OTHER: ...!attmail!fallst!tkevans Tim Evans 2201 Brookhaven Court, Fallston, MD 21047 (301) 965-3286
