Angle brackets mean that the site is "terminal", i.e. pathalias will not try to create a route through that site to another site. Nice if you don't want everybody routing their mail thru your UUNET link... > 2. The use of "FAST" as a cost modifier. (None of the documents > I have seen mention FAST. FAST = -80. Both FAST and <> are features that were added in a later version of pathalias. >As I am using a vendor-supported version of pathalias (Hewlett-Packard), >I may be able to approach the vendor for an update, if in fact these >are "new" features. However this could take a while... Since pathalias wasn't written by Hewlett-Packard, but by Peter Honeyman, and since pathalias source is in the public domain, it would be simpler to get the source code from one's friendly neighborhood archive site and compile it yourself. You can find the source for the current version of pathalias in the archives at osu-cis (available for anonymous uucp request as ~/pathalias/honey/pathalias.Z); other archive sites probably have it as well. -- Richard Todd rmtodd@uokmax.ecn.uoknor.edu rmtodd@chinet.chi.il.us rmtodd@servalan.uucp
