Glad to see you're experimenting with news, and sorry that your
experiment failed.  But might I suggest the following procedure
modifications when conducting future research:

  1) Send test message to an appropriate newsgroup such as misc.test (or
     a local <something>.test group if you have one.

  2) When appropriate make the article's distribution as local as
     possible.  A distribution within your region or organization would
     have made more sense than bothering the entire free world with your
     article.
