Message-ID: <72@tor.nhh.no> Date: 30 Aug 89 12:49:55 GMT Organization: NHH, Bergen, Norway Lines: 21 Hi, all! I figure this might be a good place to post this... I read a lot of news, and generally skim the header lines (subject fields) to see which articles I want to read, and which ones I can just skip without reading. This would be a simpler procedure if more people would follow this little rule: Make your subject line terse but informative, and, especially, make it say whether you're giving or requesting information on the subject. A subject line "Public domain C compiler" would be better (in my opinion) as either "Public domain C compiler wanted" or "Public domain C compiler available". While I'm writing anyway, let's try to go easy on the flaming, shall we? The recent 100+ messages in this conference about the size of .signature files is a good example of how *not* to keep a newsgroup interesting! -tih -- Tom Ivar Helbekkmo, NHH, Bergen, Norway.
