Dinosaur JR takes the award of worst cover of the decade > with their version of THE CURE's Just Like Heaven.. You should get your ears round 'Freakscene'. A superior track. But, alas, the others on the album don't live up to this - DON'T being the worst. About 3/4 are worth listening to - I'd obtain a tape if I were you. Stone Roses: pseudo psychedelic band here from Manchester. Excellently crafted songs, the best being a 7 min epic - "I Am The Resurrection". BUY A COPY NOW. > REM. One of favorite groups. Even despite their popularity > nowadays. Glad to hear some opinions of REM albums previous. I have only heard Fables...Green, & Eponymous, and I certainly ennjoy listening to them. If you like them, get hold of some 'James'. 'Hymn form a village' EP on Factory records or their current 'Sit Down' 12" are well worth hearing. > Wonderstuff: One of the best new bands I've listened to. Totally agree: Bloody arrogant bunch of Brummies live though. They've got the right idea with other titles too - "Astley In the Noose"! - there's a good idea (or a gag at least). > Sugarcubes: Watch out for their new album - out in the UK next week, here (Oz) a month? try listening to THIS MORTAL COIL. Have done - superb. > BANDS to SEE in CONCERT: > 24-7 Spyz: Are they likely to tour Oz, I ask you? > Fetchin' Bones: likewise. > > Tom Tom Club: Next time i've $20 (vinyl is EXPENSIVE here) spare I'll give them a go Brian May.
