We have noticed that when editing large (~4000 lines) files with vi, and 
vi receives a signal (SIGHUP), vi is unable to recover the file. The
"[Lost lines....]" message is displayed, "Tmp file too large" message is
displayed and garbage is displayed on the screen.

Has anyone else observed this problem, and does anyone know of a fix?
