What do System Administrators usually do to maintain the logfile(s)
generated by uucp?  We are set up to poll one system periodically, 
and the logfile for that system is getting to the point where it's
not convenient to read.  I tried editing it once, but it seemed to
cause it to get garbled--so I ended up trashing it and starting a
new one.

Is there any special procedure usually followed to maintain these
logs (the ones shown by 'uulog')?  Are there any programs/scripts
out there that can be used to summarize the log activity?

The system in question is a Harris Nighthawk 3802, running 
System V.3.
