Unfortunately, I can only access the first 4 partitions the extra 8 don't work! I can do a mkfs on /dev/hd8, but I can't mount it. (At the mo. I'm running on /dev/hd3, but I'd like to use the extra partitions.) I know there's something there as I the mkfs works on /dev/hd8, whereas a mkfs on /dev/hd8 with the original PH kernel, wouldn't. A od -hx of /dev/hd8 or /dev/hd9 just gives a list of about 20 unrecoverable disk errors then returns with the prompt! The extra partitions are there as TOS could access them just after I re-formatted the disk. I've looked at /dev/hd0 and all the info. there seems okay, according to the structure in kernel/sthdc.h!!! Any ideas anyone? Has anyone actually got 12 partitions working. Mark Powell ARPAnet : sq79%liv.ac.uk@nsfnet-relay.ac.uk USENET : ...!mcvax!ukc!liv.ac.uk!sq79
