I'm posting this article here since there isn't yet a comp.sys.os2 :-) I've been using OS/2 for a few months now, and have been hunting for software in both executable and source form. Now that I've accumulated quite a bit of software, I've been thinking about some other tools that would be nice for OS/2. Since I like the UNIX tools, I have been wondering about porting some tools from UNIX to OS/2. I think it would be great if we could port some/most of the Free Software Foundation's GNU software to OS/2. I have Bison (GNU's yacc) for OS/2. I am thinking of attempting to port Bash (GNU's Bourne Again Shell) to OS/2 and would like any advice for porting from UNIX to OS/2.
