We have a PS/2 model 80-111 -- the 20 MHz machine -- with 4 Mb of SIMMs. The 4 Mb of SIMMs are located on a card in one of two slots for memory modules on the motherboard. We would like to add some memory. However, I was horrified to discover that 2 Mb of 80 ns system board memory, which is what I assume would fit into the second slot, costs more that $1,000, and that's with a discount through the Duke U. Computer Store. Can anybody suggest any cheaper alternatives? Please respond via e-mail. If there's a lot of interest, I'll post a summary of responses to this news group. Thanks, Ed Darken erd@cs.duke.edu
