My parallel printer seems to not want to print with WordStar 5.0 or PC-Outline. I got WordStar 5.0 to work by turning off the printer busy test (on the printer Busy Handshaking Menu) in WSCHANGE. Then I set the printer speed to 100 CPS. Now printing works on WordStar 5.0 but it still is considerably slow. I couldn't get PC_Outline to print either. So I tried all the hints in Appendix B with trying the other .prn files. Then it said to try the MS-DOS MODE command and I did (after a fresh boot) and it didn't work. I even got desparate and thought MS-DOS was going crazy so I PRINT /d:lpt1. Nothing worked. So I got out my manual for the KW port. Right now the card is supposed to be set up at IRQ7 and at 378H (I/O address). I can change the IRQ to IRQ5. I can also change the address to either 3BCH or 278H... Well will this work? What is going on here??? I'm about ready to throw the computer in the garbage. All my prints from dos work fine!!!! Are these programs looking for printer at a I/O address my LPT1 isn't at?? Hmmm...
