I am curious about the functioning of updatep and LPP updates mechanism in
general. 

Does it [really] work on RT with AIX 2.*? 

What kinds of problems did you encounter?  What were your work-arounds?   

Do you have any suggestions about improving/redesigning the mechanism of
controlled software updates and update back-outs?

I do not want to know about the viles and stupidities of IBM support.  Just
the facts and ideas.  If people care, I will post a summary.
