Message-ID: <1989Aug21.182624.15450@csuchico.edu> Date: 21 Aug 89 18:26:24 GMT Organization: California State University, Chico Lines: 26 I am having problems with the manual for the HPDJ public-domain DeskJet driver. I have downloaded it from two different archives: sumex and rascal (? - address 128.83.144.1) and the problem is the same. The file cannot be opened by any application. I checked with ResEdit and the file has a Type and Creator of "nX^D". I can change the type to TEXT and the creator to MSWD and then open the file with WORD. However, the resulting file has a bunch of garbage and only a small amount of readable text. Since the file is the same at both archives, I am assuming it got downloaded this way from its creators. Either that or I am missing out on something. Has anyone had any luck getting this file recently? On sumex it is /info-mac/util/deskjet-driver-manual.hqx. On rascal it is /mac/printing-support/HPDJ_Manual.pit.bin. I converted the sumex file with BinHex then Unpit. The rascal file must be ftp'd to a unix host, then downloaded with MacBinary Kermit, then run through Unpit. If anyone knows of something I'm doing wrong, please let me know. I'd also settle for someone e-mailing me a 'good' copy of this file if they have one. Thanks.
