Telpass is a companion program for NCSA Telnet which allows you to set a user+password list for your Mac. You run Telpass, enter the information at the prompts, and then add a line in your config.tel file telling Telnet the full pathname of your password file. Voila! The security hole is plugged. Although I haven't checked, I would assume Telpass is available from zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu viz anonymous ftp (that's the same place the sources and executables come from).
