I recently upgraded my Mac SE to 2.5 megs. I also added an 80 meg Ehman drive. All is well except for one problem. Smartcom II is behaving quite strangely. FIrst, it isn't scrolling as it should. When a large screenful comes in, it scrolls in half-page jumps. Now keep in mind that I'm running Smartcom at 9600 or 19,200 baud usually, but even when I had the SE with only one meg and a 20 meg hard drive, it never failed to scroll line by line. More distressing than that, however, is that the program now "unexpectedly" quits (with a "1" or "2" in parens afterwards). Once in a while, the whole thing just crashes, complete with little horizontal lines all over the screen, static from the speaker, and an eventually flickering display (you know the crash I mean...everyone get 'em now and then). Any idea what's going on?? I'm running under multifinder now, and I didn't before. But I don't think that has anything to do with it, as I run Smartcom on my Mac II with multifinder and have no troubles. Any thoughts, folks? -- Gabe Wiener - Columbia Univ.
