I can't recall who mentioned it, but there was a reference to portable
bitmaps to be found on expo.lcs.mit.edu.  I ftp'ed to the machine and
found lots of code for X windows, but didn't encounter anything related
to portable bitmaps.  I found a ls-lR.Z file in the main directory, but
both uncompress and zcat choked on it. My search through the directories
was not exhaustive, but I covered the obvious places.  Can someone tell me
what directory I might find said bitmaps in?
