Now, EVERY time I power on my Mac and hard disk, it shows the "smiley Mac", then displays my startup screen (where Welcome to Macintosh usually appears if no startup screen is used)...fine so far. Then just before it starts to load my INITs, a dialog box pops up and says, "The alternate AppleTalk driver could not be found. The built in network will be used instead." It then has a single button for "OK". After clicking the OK, all works like it should...INITs are loaded and the desktop appears. When I ran under System 6.0, it never did this to me. What gives?!! If you have a suggestion or better yet, an answer to this problem, please let me know! I have tried during off all INITs using the INIT-CDEV 2.0 cdev. I have made sure the "Responder" system file is gone. I have fiddled with the Chooser. Nothing has helped. All System files are version 6.0.3. I did use the Installer to load those files that it deals with. The printer resources were copied manually. I am not on any AppleTalk network. Cache RAM is ON, AppleTalk network is OFF. I have an ImageWriter I connected to my printer port. I have a 40M h/d connected to my aftermarket SCSI port. Any clues?? If so, let me know via a post to this group or e-mail.
