You get a registration card to send into MS like everybody else. For academic _upgrades_, you don't get a registration card, but you _do_ get SuperPaint 1.1 (upgradable to 2.0 for $50). This means that as far as MS is concerned, you still own the old version. So, if you want to get free or cheap upgrades in the future, you have to go through a university. You can also upgrade directly through MS, but it's more expensive. -- - Scott
