This is a question that was asked a few weeks ago, but was either never responded to or I simply missed the answer. When formatting a 40Mb Apple HD using the "Maximum Macintosh" option, why does the Apple HD Setup program (v2.0 - came with sys 6.0.2) leave an unusable free space at the end of the Macintosh partion? Last night, I reformatted my drive using the "custom" option and specified the entire drive (less driver). Now I have something like an extra 1900kb of disk space and it works fine. Neither Disk Express nor Disk First Aid had anything bad to say when I examined the volume. Is adding this extra space potentially a bad thing to do? Please email any responses, as due to the volume in this group, I sometimes miss postings. Thanks. -- -- -- | | --- ----- --- |\ | ---- ---- ----- | | | | | |___ | |___| | \ | | __ | __ | | | | |___| ____| | | | | \| |____| |____| | ...there is no substitute (except a ZR1 'vette!) John S.
