The only thing I have seen that would come close to what you want would be and SGI Personal IRIS 4D/20. I think that would give you 8 bit planes of color, 19" color monitor, and a disk, I think. 19" monitor is a must. I would buy an extra 8Mb of memory from a 3rd party to make a total of 16Mb on the Personal. 8Mb in a 4D/20 just isn't enough to do anything and 16Mb is the current max memory on them. 8 bit planes may not be enough color for you. For the price you are limited to, SGI 4D/20 would be the best way to go. Can you be any more specific on your requirements? I hope this is some help. -- Brent L.
