Message-ID: <1156@kuling.UUCP> Date: 2 Sep 89 11:27:14 GMT Organization: DoCS, Uppsala University, Sweden Lines: 19 For a long time I have tried to get the X Window TeX previewer 'texx2.8' up on our HPs that run the HP-UX version of X11R2. Unfortunately, it doesn't help if I use Xaw, Xmu and Xt from the X11R3 distribution. Even if I can get 'texx2' to compile by rewriting the source code and fixing what seem to be bugs in it, it will not link irrespective of in what order I specify the X libraries. Is there a later version of 'texx2' that is less broken(?) and that works on HP 9000/300 and 800 series machines? I would appreciate a copy e-mailed to bt@irfu.se. In the meantime, I have started to send out the streamer cassettes with the HP TeX to those of you who contacted me. I am very sorry about the long delay, but the problems with 'texx2' (and the time I have to spend on my research project) has prevented me from sending it out earlier. BTW, TeX proper now fits on a 16 MB streamer but TeX+METAFONT does not. --Bo
