I want to make an EXACT copy of that machine onto another one. I have been told (in an IBM CLASS) that "all you do is install on the new machine from a tape backup". (All the core O/S install disks are is a backup of some seminal machine.) This is lovely in theory, but in practice the install program gives "Install from Disk 0 or Disk 1?" as my choices. An fgrep of all the files on the install disk does not yield the name of the file which contains the install prompt, so I surmise that the install is a binary and not a modifiable shell script. Anybody know how to "install from a tape backup" on AIX PS/2? -- Kevin Kleinfelter @ Management Science America, Inc (404) 239-2347 gatech!nanovx!msa3b!kevin
