Keywords: vi, macros, TFM?, glasses Message-ID: <4237@ncar.ucar.edu> Date: 7 Sep 89 18:27:24 GMT Sender: news@ncar.ucar.edu Reply-To: morreale@bierstadt.ucar.edu (Peter Morreale) Distribution: usa Organization: Scientific Computing Division/NCAR, Boulder CO Lines: 24 Hi! I'm looking for a functionality that perhaps vi doesn't have. What I want to do is actually two-fold. 1) How can I search for a string and have all occurrences show on my screen (aside from doing a :!grep -i ) because then I want to.... 2) delete all lines which match the above mentioned search. Does vi have macro capability (w/o changing the source or writing C stuff, that's beyond me)? Do I need new glasses to read TFM? Can I combine some standard vi stuff and map it to a key? (I can do that ;-) ) Thanx for any and all hep. ("hep" is southern for "help") -PWM ----------------- Peter W. Morreale Nat'l Center for Atmos.
