All I know about PixMaps is that they're like bitmaps, only with more layers, and that a color map (or maps) is involved somehow. (Also, X uses PixMaps, not GIF. ) 1. What programs exists to display/manipulate PixMaps? I saw some DECstations with pretty color pictures displayed at a conference recently, and I'm pretty sure they were pixmaps. 2. Is there a GIF <-> PixMap conversion program? Somebody mentioned a package called fbm ("fuzzy bitmap"), but I couldn't find it on expo. 3. I've checked out some GIF servers (thanks, Pat McCormick!). Are there any PixMap servers? -- ===== Mike Schmelzer ====== "Republicans think community service is something = xmjschm@harvspha.BITNET = you are sentenced to after you're caught." xmjschm@mbcrr.harvard.edu = - Ron Brown, Chairman of the DNC =========================== "You make me PATHETIC." - Tom Burke
