    Why does every xterm window I have on my screen create an entry
    in /usr/utmp?  Then when you do a 'who', it says I'm logged in
    5 times!  (If I have 5 windows)?

    Is there an option to disable this?

The MIT R3 xterm contains a -ut switch (which sets the *utmpInhibit resource
to "on") to disable the adding of utmp entries.
