There was one problem with the installation: system.h did not exist. The first line of the ChangeLog file contains the date Tue.Aug.15 22:30:42 1989. I was able to compile bison after "touch system.h," which should probably be in the Makefile or README file (should there be something in system.h? The program compiled with system.h empty).
