I am trying to setup a port on the Tower for bidirectional communications
and am using a Telebit Trailblazer Plus modem.  Has anyone successfully
used one bidirectional without causing various problems on the tower?  I
have attempted to use uugetty but sometimes the modem decides not to
answer the phone, and if it does it immediately hangs-up.  

What commands should I send to the modem before connecting it to the tower?
How should I set the port up on the tower?  What options should I use with
the uugetty in the /etc/inittabs file?
