(kinda tough on those ymodem transfers :-) ). The plain vanilla HST 144x will not connect to a V.32 modem, However, USR markets a straight V.32 modem, and the Dual Standard which can operate in V.32 or in HST 14.4K modes. USR has been plagued with 2400 baud compatibility problems, it seems their 144x series don't like cheap 2400 baud clone modems. The HST will connect with such a modem, but it will generate tons of line noise, garbling (sp?) the connection.
