What I'd like to do is have one (or a few) lines which look to the outside world like a bunch of separate phone numbers, and have the TelCo signal me what number was actually dialed. I am told that this is what is known as Direct Inward Dialing - DID for short. Is that right? I'd appreciate a brief explanation of how it works, or even better, a pointer to a Bell PUB or other specification. A quick literature search in our local engineering library didn't find anything.
