For strange and mysterious reasons, I have a need to create
run-length encoded Sun rasterfiles from Fortran on VM/CMS.

Does anyone have some code that takes raw data and builds
rle rasterfiles (without using the pixrect stuff available on the Sun)?
I can convert C if I need to, but Fortran would be just spiffy.
