All these files had a ".GIF" suffix. I have a Mac IIX. Using GIFFER (version unknown - for some reason 1.4 or 1.04 comes to mind - is that possible?). When I run GIFFER and try to open any of these files, the application laughs at me and says "Sorry Buddy, This ain't a GIF file". Meanwhile, I faintly recall someone else mentioning somewhere on the net the all "GIF" files are created equal, except for certain editable header info. Is this true? Bottom line: 1) What do I need to do to display these files on my Mac? 2) If I need to edit them, what's a good editor - or is any word processor acceptable;eg; MS Word 4.0? 3) What is the latest / greatest version of GIFFER and where can I get it? FTP is preferable over Compu$erve or GEnie :-). Please e-mail your help to: pff@thumper.bellcore.com Best Regards, Pete Ferris
