Occasionally sendmail will dump core with a floating exception. When I run sendmail manually with -v -d99, I see: res_send() HEADER: (deleted) QUESTIONS: asoka.sdsu.edu, type = ANY, class = IN Querrying server (# 1) address = 127.0.0.1 got answer: HEADER: (deleted) QUESTIONS: asoka.sdsu.edu, type = ANY, class = IN ANSWERS: asoka.sdsu.edu type = A, class = IN, ttl = 70340, dlen = 4 internet address = 130.191.229.16 asoka.sdsu.edu type = HINFO, class = IN, ttl = 70340, dlen = 14 CPU=Motorola OS=SYSV butler@asoka... Host unknown Floating exception (core dumped) Has anyone seen this error before? It occurs if the host is found or not. Any ideals as to what is going on? I'm not sure if a routine in resolve.a is printing "Host unknown" or if sendmail is. Thanks in advance.
