For example, why are certain organizations more appropriate for DOS and others more appropriate for UNIX? Do supercomputers allow assisting peripheral managers to dynamically reorganize data before it's inhaled? Irregardless, what are the considerations made for balancing disk performance with everything else?? References are welcome.
