It's been almost 18 months since KIP has been updated (Last version is
0688).  Before this lull, updates were occurring every 3-6 months.  Is
this change in behavior an indication that KIP is no longer an active
project?  Yes, we can used K-STAR in our K4 box, but we have
un-upgraded K-3 boxes that must remain using KIP (Kinetics no longer
upgrades old boxes).  Are we stuck in June 1988 KIP?
