Well something went wrong with my first posting (only the .sig got out), so
I'll try again:

This is a known and documented bug having something to do with virtual
files.  It was discovered it many, many months ago.  It has been reported to
WordPerfect and it has been fixed IN THE LATEST VERSION.  This bug only
occurs in the 1988 version.  But, if you report having problems with this
bug, you will get the 1989 version sent to you FREE (otherwise you will have
to pay WordPerfect $17.50 to ``upgrade'' to the 1989 version).
