Here in NYC, you can buy a brand new Mac IIcx for $2999. If you want a 68030 environment, this path seems to be a bit more logical as you'll have tons of software to choose from, more expansion slots and the support of a company that releases real products in a timely manner. Sorry for the flame Atari people, but you've just lost a customer. The vapor games finally got to be a bit too annoying. I don't think the TT will be a match for the Mac IIcx or Mac SE/30 anyway (speedwise or supportwise).
