Specifically the 520 and the 1040. About the TOS 1.4 rumor. I have heard that TOS 1.4 has a bug in one of its RS-232 routines. And that there is a patch program that has to be used to make the RS-232 port work. Is this true? I have the TOS 1.4 upgrade but it will not work in my 7-1985 revision ST with a MEGA-RAM upgrade. (I know the upgrade is junk, but it was the first available, and least expensive.: It is most likely my problem) PS: The program is called TOS14FIX.PRG and is about 700 bytes long.
