Message-ID: <1616@draken.nada.kth.se> Date: 12 Sep 89 06:16:21 GMT Reply-To: d88-eli@nada.kth.se (Erik Liljencrantz) Organization: Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden Lines: 18 In my local computer store (yes, they exist in Sweden too) they offer a 16/20 MHz 386SX motherboard for a good price. The 386SX isn't rated for 20MHz, but the say it works well (and I can always step down to 16MHz)... I believe that the only thing the SX isn't capable of is to accomodate fast 32-bit memory, due to the 16-bit external architecture. Am I right? Virtual 8086 mode is present, and all 386 MMU features are implemented. Still right? Are there any other disadvantages? (I can live without 32-bit memory, but Turbo Debugging in 386 Mode is possible, eh?) Reply by email to d88-eli@nada.kth.se, or if of general interest, post it (who pays the "hundreds or thousands of dollars" a posting may cost according to Pnews?).
