Message-ID: <2319@umbc3.UMBC.EDU> Date: 21 Sep 89 19:28:40 GMT Sender: newspost@umbc3.UMBC.EDU Reply-To: rkim@avior.nas.nasa.gov (Roger Kim) Organization: NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Lines: 14 I was using my Mac just an hour ago and it shutdown by itself for no apparent reason! I wasn't doing anything (no typing, no mouse movements, etc) except looking at the screen when it just turned itself off. It was not a power outage... All other devices were on (modems, etc) except the computer and the monitor. I was using Red Ryder 10.3 under Multifinder w/ 5megs of memory and was connected to a local UNIX site when it happened. My only guess is that since there is a softswitch for powering the computer with the monitor down, one of the programs must've accidently "flicked" it. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I even worry about the problem? (this is the first time it happened) rkim@avior.gsfc.nasa.gov rkim@cville.umd.edu
