I will prefer following kinds of individuals to Beta test the package: 1. with UNIX system of over 2M free disk space, and 2. the system has TeX, and preferably my version of dvi2ps that can be ftped from june.cs.washington.edu under ~/tmp, and 3. with software installation/setup experience, and even better with software Engineering experince, and 4. the system is servered to a PostScript printer, and 4. understands Chinese (mainland China version). Or, 1. with UNIX or VMS system of over 1.5M disk space, and 2. the system has Scribe (version 5.0 or newer), and 3. the system is hooked up to a PostScript printer, and 4. understands Chinese (mainland China version). This package named ChTeX contains four C programs, i.e., chtext.c chtex.c, chviewer.c, CzW.c, where 1. chtext is a Chinese text line editor, PinYin-file <-> Chinese-file interpretor, PinYin matcher, and utility program. 2. chtex is a Chinese preprocessor for standard TeX/LaTeX package, and a preprocessor for Scribe package, it will also be implemented a Chinese to PostScript driver. 3. chviewer is a Chinese text viewer on a standard text screen, 4. CzW is a encoder/decoder program is translate Chinese text to and from a standard ASCII file for telecommunication purposes. Due to the limit of availability of time, even though there can't be found better ideas to input Chinese and format it as demonstarted in Ch-series, the implementation in C is still raw (I had only one month for all these). The package will be delievered in UNIX tar.Z file, and I do request testers not to re-distribute the package until I think it is fairly bug-free.
